Kre-o Star Trek Enterprise

Kre-o Star Trek Enterprise
I got this set when Amazon put them on clearance for $17 back during the 2013 holiday season. However, it wasn't until 2015 that I got around to putting it together. ^^;; This is based off the new movie version of the Enterprise and was part of the toy merchandise for Into Darkness (which sucked bricks, btw :P).

Gimmicks include spring-shooting photon missile above the deflector dish and light up gimmick for deflector and warp nacelles. It had 3 different glowing patterns depending on how you pressed the light button. And it only included one missile for the photon torpedo; if you lose it, you SOL. :P Because of the electronics for the lighting gimmick, most of the secondary hull, the warp nacelles, and the bridge connecting them, are pre-assembled. You take the piece out of the box, rotate the pylon part sideways, and attach bricks to it to complete the look. Kinda sad, really. -_-;

One more gimmick or play feature is that you can take off the "lid" of the primary hull to reveal the bridge. Crew includes Kirk, Spock, McCoy, and 2 random crew members. Would have been nice if they replaced McCoy and the random crew with Uhura, Sulu, and Chekov so we can have the real bridge crew but then we wouldn't have an excuse to buy the other Kre-o sets, would we? :P

"What happened to Sulu?"
"He has lungworms, sir. I am future red shirt #2."

Kre-o Star Trek Enterprise
"Doctor, I find your assignment to the comm station to be quite...illogical."
"Dammit, Spock! I'm a doctor, not a toy manufacturer! I would have preferred my own set as well!"

One last gimmick is that you can open the warp nacelles to review fake details inside.

The set is nice as a playset and swooshable piece but ugly as a display piece. If you want something that actually looks good, look for the Mega Bloks version of the classic Enterprise. It'll cost you an arm and a leg but it would be worth it.

  1. Really cool :D the minifigure is less appealing, but the enterprise itself is the real deal

    1. The minfigures have their own charm similar to the Enterprise. I really wanted complete the bridge crew but I wasn't willing to buy 3 other sets just to do that even if they were clearanced (they never dropped low enough that I was willing to buy them just for the figures :p). However, if the Mega Bloks Enterprise dropped low enough, I'd jump on that one in a heartbeat because THAT is the real deal. XD
