The HLJ Groizer-X tour winners were announced!

And I didn't win anything...rats! Not like I expected it as other people's pics were way more creative. I'm surprised my pic even made it among the weekly winners (Yes, I was one of them; guess which one it was?). Maybe they just wanted me to spend money in which case, they succeeded. It helped that they had a few things I wanted including Chogokin Drossel and figma Mikuru (w/ Santa costume set). I realized I should have included one more item in my last purchase from them because other than that, I can't find anything else I want from them that I can't get elsewhere for cheaper.

Saw 6

I just watched Saw 6 last week and thought it was mediocre. I liked how it attacked the assbackwards-ness of the American health insurance system however, I didn't like the ending. It didn't feel like a real Jigsaw test at all since it's missing a recording from Kramer explaining the test. Also the gore has become too gratuitous and it's torture to watch through them to enjoy the otherwise enjoyable film series. Apparently the next is the last one; I sure hope it is.

Crunchyroll app for iPhone

Yay, Crunchyroll has a streaming app! For those who don't know, Crunchyroll is a legal anime streaming site as in they have the official backing of the people who make the anime that's available on their site. As such when, you pay for their premium service, some of that money actually goes to the makers rather than some guy who's ripping you off for content you can get for free. Seriously, don't pay any money to any site that tries to charge for providing anime/manga content unless you can verify it has official backing of the original makers of the product (and even then be wary). Enough of the soapbox, I haven't had time to verify it but if the app works as advertised, it means you can stream QUALITY anime streams to your iPhone/iPod Touch. The caveat is you have to use wifi and you need to have an account (free for non-premium members). I'll try it myself when I get a chance but I'm kinda busy and there are other apps I need to find time to try out as well.

Link to the app webpage is here.

Miku knockoff

The eBay Miku has arrived and as I have feared, it's a knockoff. Sending it back is out of the question as the shipping is going to be equal or more than the winning cost ($10). I don't really think there's a way for me and the seller to resolve this peacefully as I'm almost definitely going to give him a neutral or worse feedback with the note that he gave me a knockoff.

I finally took Yda and Benio out of their boxes on Sunday to toy with them a bit. Benio doesn't look that bad once you get used to it however her armor shows some definitely flaws with how they're attached as well as their quality. Yda looks cool however her armor sockets are a bit too tight and the dummy plug frame peg broke off where it attaches to the lower part of the bike. It doesn't help that the way the instructions show to attach the dummy places stress onto the peg that broke off. Fortunately, it doesn't seem to affect her other modes but I am crestfallen, that a part of her should break so easily. It really makes me a bit wary of putting down too much money for Busou Shinkis and depending on how Juvisy, Ianeira, and Asuka turn out, may or may not turn me off buying the full armor Shinkis completely. You can see the broken off peg in the picture below.

Gundam on youtube

I just watched the 1st episode of the original Gundam series on youtube, dubbed. It's like so old school memory. Zeta Gundam's available as well so those with nostalgia or want a taste of the real old-school should check it out. They've cleaned up the video so it looks sharper and the colors look better than before. Plenty of other anime available on youtube as well if you don't know about them already.

While I was at it, I also rewatched a bit of Code Geass episode 12. It's really funny how they interject the table humping scene out of nowhere and then go back to the main plot. I really need to go watch some new anime.

I got a package today from Hong Kong. I got a Busou Shinki Yda, EX-weapon set Schmetterling, and MMS Ichijou Eika from eBay. I've also bought a few other stuff as well which should slowly trickle in throughout the rest of the month including Chogokin Drossel, Busou Shinki Asuka, and Mikuru figma. Hopefully, I'm also getting a Miku Nendo but I'm getting the feeling that this one might be a fake as the fact that nobody else has bid on it is a big sign of that. I've definitely spent way too much money on toys lately so there probably won't be any more toy purchasing for the foreseeable future.

P.S.: Due to my purchasing of the Drossel Chogokin, my planned big purchase of either a bathing Kanu or Chogokin Quarter is put off indefinitely. My decision was leaning slightly towards Quarter and I still plan to get it but not until it drops to a more reasonable price.

Which should I choose?

I'm trying to decide between two big purchases. Both are epic in their own ways.
1/6 Kanu Uncho in Bath

or

DX Chogokin Macross Quarter

Anyone want to help me decide which I should go for?

PS: Yes, I know I'm being rather a hypocrite with my previous post essentially saying I'm trying to save money and here I am planning to spend even more. :p

Going places and taking pictures...

I just caught this at HLJ. I considered it but decided not to get it. Been buying way too much toys lately and I still have at least one more big purchase coming up. In other news I've been going places and taking photographs. Of what? Well, I've been taking pictures of my Groizer-X for HLJ's Groizer World Tour contest. Where? I'll reveal that on the blog after the contest is over.

So much to do, so little time

My main hobbies can be grouped into the following categories...

Toys: collecting Transformers, bishoujo figures, etc.
Manga: both regular and ero, I read plenty of both
Video games: consoles, portables, and iPod Touch
Eroge: so much I want to play, so little time
Anime: I don't watch much ero-anime so it's mostly regular stuff

The problem is I spend plenty of time on each of the above categories and if I focus on some categories, my activity in the other categories will dwindle significantly. My current focus is on toys, manga, and games and I haven't watched nor played much eroge & anime lately. I would like to catch up on everything I want to read, watch, or play but I only have so much time especially since I can't do this stuff at work. I wonder how many others face a similar problem?

Random pic:
Saber Drossel
After seeing Drossel wtih Kagami head on Kodomut's page sometime last year, I decided to try it with Saber's head.

I missed it... OTL

Groizer X,Drossel
I missed Chogokin Drossel... orz
