PotP Starscream micro-review

In a nut shell, the Power of the Prime Starscream sucks. His plastic quality rivals the better knockoffs you find in discount stores and the poorly printed and placed stickers do not help. If not for the package and instructions, you'd swear it was a knockoff. Because of the combination of poor plastic and reliance on plastic tolerances that plagues much of the movie line, Starscream's transformation is utter crap. His jet mode does not hold together well at all. Anyone wants him, hit me up. I'll give him away for shipping & material.

    1. Somewhere during a previous generation toy, either Combiner Wars or Titan Returns, the plastic quality noticeably dropped and it carried on to the first half of Power of the Primes. The crappy pre-applied stickers were unique to PotP toys and thankfully died with that line. The poor plastic still shows up from time to time however with the most recent examples being some of the figures from the Studio Series movie line. The plastic, combined with some toys relying on plastic tolerances to perform their transformations has given me a distaste for that line in general.

  2. I see,as expected then,yeah the infamous stickers.
plastic tolerance ? you mean white stretch mark will eventually appear on them after couple transforming ?
since seems the WoC stuff generally have good review (or just because they are G1 looking these old school liking them) and you not mention them I assume they do have better plastic then ?

    1. By plastic tolerance, I mean the transformation relies on the ability of the plastic to "give" a little bit to facilitate the transformation. This type of transformation often require parts to line up just right, something that's difficult to achieve when the plastic quality is so poor that the parts don't really line up right out of the box. The recent Siege series uses a much better grade of plastic plus most of them don't seem to rely on that type of transformation either.
