Transformers Siege Springer

This guy was a huge pain to figure out how to transform. Transformers instructions are notoriously useless when it comes to explaining more complex transformations and Springer really took the cake on this one. There were very specific positions that you have to move the parts in order for everything to fit together and I had to refer to online videos to figure out those finer details.

Car mode. Siege Springer closely follows the original design from the 1986 Transformers cartoon movie and this is reflected in all 3 modes. Yeah, in case you weren't familiar with Springer, he's a triple-changer.

Helicopter mode. I also have the "CHUG version" as they like to call it. It's basically the previous toy of this character, also a triple-changer. I actually like that version of the toy better since I don't have any real attachment to the original design of the character. Maybe when I dig out that version from wherever he's hiding, I'll do a brief page on him as well.

Springer's helicopter rotor can be separated into swords but in this case, I like to keep it together as a sort of rotor-style weapon.

Hasbro has really upped their Transformers toy line quality since Combiner Wars. Although there were brief compromises like using stickers during Power of the Primes, they've really raised the bar again starting with Siege and into Earthrise. It'll be interesting to see how long they keep this up.
